Day excursion to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou (any date)
Ait-Ben-Haddou, in Ouarzazate province, is a striking example of the architecture of southern Morocco.
From Marrakech, we head over the passes over the High Atlas route of Tizi n Tichka and descend to the desert plains of southern Morocco and the Ksar Ait ben Haddou. This World Heritage Ksar is a collection of defensive kasbahs that were originally built in pre-saharan tribe time and is a striking example of mud brick architecture. It is famously the backdrop for films such as “Gladiator”. After a chance to visit the ksar, take a tea and then head back to Marrakech.
